Each of these pieces are individually hand-printed from a unique, hand-carved stamp otherwise known as a “linocut” (a design or form carved in relief on a block of linoleum). These are printed on 100% cotton, acid free, fine-art Stonehenge measuring approximately 3.5″ x 4.5″. For more details on how these are made, go to Natalie Sept’s website here.

This piece is based on a Desert Globemallow (Sphaeralcea ambigua) which I’ve learned in my herbalism research is a wonderful stabilizing medicinal. And this reminded me of mothers. So, for Mother’s Day, a desert flower ubiquitous in the area and a wonderful stabilizing force.
